What is MyChart?

MyChart offers patients personalized and secure on-line access to portions of their medical records. It enables you to securely use the Internet to help manage and receive information about your health. With MyChart, you can use the Internet to:

  • Request medical appointments.
  • View your health summary from the MyChart electronic health record.
  • View test results.
  • Request prescription renewals.
  • Communicate electronically and securely with your medical care team.

Is there a fee to use MyChart?

How do I sign up?

Patients who wish to participate will be issued a MyChart activation code during their clinic visit or during their hospital stay. This code will enable you to login and create your own user ID and password. If you were not issued an activation code, you may call your primary care clinic, the hospital registration staff, or ask to sign up during your next office visit. You also may fill out and mail in the form available here or use our Sign Up Now page to sign up electronically.

When can I see my test results in MyChart?

Your test results are released to your MyChart account after your physician has reviewed them. This is generally within 1-5 days.

Why are certain test results not shared electronically via MyChart?

Your provider is able to determine which types of test results are able to be accessed through MyChart. Further, tests of a very sensitive nature are not released to MyChart.

If some of my health information on MyChart is not correct, what should I do?

Your MyChart information comes directly from your electronic medical record at your doctor's office. Ask your doctor to correct any inaccurate information at your next clinic visit. Your health information is reviewed and updated in your electronic medical record each visit.

If I send a message to my doctor or nurse, when can I expect a reply?

You will generally receive an answer within 1-3 business days. Please note that MyChart should not be used for urgent situations. Please contact your medical center if the situation requires immediate attention or dial 911 if it is an emergency.

Can I view a family member's health record in MyChart?

Yes you can. This is called Proxy access and allows a parent (or guardian) to log into their personal MyChart account, and then connect to information regarding their family member. Complete a Proxy Consent Form and return it to the address on the form to request access to this convenient service.

Can I ask questions regarding a family member from my MyChart account?

No, MyChart offers direct access to your personal health record and communicating about another individual's information would be placed in your health record. This information would not appear in the correct health record and could potentially jeopardize medical care.

Can my spouse and I share one MyChart account?

No, due to the sensitive nature of medical information, each adult must sign and submit a Release of Information request, fill out the Adult Proxy Form and establish their own MyChart account.

I forgot my password. What should I do?

You may click the "Forgot password" link on the sign-in page to reset your password online.

Can you send me a new activation code as I have lost it, let it expire or did not receive it?

You may contact us by filling out a Help form or by calling us at 1-844-643-4394. After we verify your information, a new code will be sent via U.S. Postal Mail. Privacy issues prevent us from e-mailing a new activation code to you.

Where can I update my personal information (e.g., home address, e-mail or change my password)?

Log into MyChart, on the toolbar go to the Health Folder and select the Demographics option.

Is MyChart secure?

Yes, the information stored on MyChart is secure on two different levels:

1. Access to information is controlled through secure activation codes, personal ID's, and passwords. Each person controls their password, and the account can only be accessed with that password. Keeping your password private is the most effective way to keep your health information private.

2. MyChart uses the latest 128-bit SSL encryption technology with no caching to automatically encrypt your session with MyChart. When viewing your information on MyChart, or when communicating with a care provider via MyChart, the information sent across the Internet is encrypted so no one else would be able to intercept and read that information.

Yes, if you as a patient find a 3rd party application that you would like to use to access and import your health information McFarland Clinic and Mary Greeley Medical Center provide the ability for you to do so.

Yes, you can see applications you have allowed access by going to 'Linked Apps and Devices' within your MyChart account.

Will a 3rd Party Application protect my health information?

Please note, 3rd Party Applications are not at all affiliated with McFarland Clinic or Mary Greeley Medical Center. If you choose to allow a 3rd party application to have access to your personal health information, you are allowing all associates and developers of that application to access your personal health information.

Neither McFarland Clinic nor Mary Greeley Medical Center are responsible for how your information is used once it leaves MyChart. These third parties might not be obligated to protect your health information under the same privacy regulations as your healthcare providers and some applications might use data for advertising or other secondary purposes. We strongly encourage you to read the applications terms and conditions to understand how it will be using your data.

What does a 3rd Party Application have the ability to see?

3rd party applications have the ability to see everything that you can see in MyChart. This includes, but is not limited to: Demographics, Allergies, Lab Results, Plan of Care, Procedures, Vitals, Medications, Problems, Immunizations, Care Team, Implants, Health Goals, Documents and Health History.

How do I revoke a 3rd Party Application's access to my health information?

Log into your MyChart Account and go to 'Linked Apps and Devices'. From that screen, click Remove Access to disallow access for the application.

I was logged out of MyChart, what happened?

We aim to protect your privacy and security of your information. While logged into MyChart, if your keyboard remains idle for 15 minutes or more, you will be automatically logged out of MyChart. We recommend that you log out of your MyChart session if you need to leave your computer for even a short period of time.

What do I need to use MyChart?

You need access to a computer connected to the Internet and an up-to-date browser (such as Internet Explorer). Or, a mobile phone if using the MyChart App.

Why doesn't my child's growth chart display in MyChart?

The ability to see growth charts in MyChart requires you to have Java installed on your PC.

My activation code does not work, what should I do?

For your security, your activation code expires after 30 days and is no longer valid after the first time you use it. If you still have problems, contact us by filling out a Help form or by calling us at 1-844-643-4394.

Is my activation code my user ID?

No, your activation code is not your MyChart ID or password. You will use this code only once to log into MyChart for the first time. (The code will expire after you have used it or after 30 days). When you log into MyChart the first time, you will then be asked to create your own unique MyChart ID and password.

What is the new mobile app for McFarland Clinic?

The free app gives you secure and convenient mobile access to many McFarland Clinic and Mary Greeley Medical Center Online services, from your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Android devices. The app, called MyChart, is available from the Apps Store on your iPhone or Android Market for your Android device.

How do I get the mobile app?

You can download it from the Apps Store on your iPhone or Android Market. It's free. Simply search for "MyChart" and install it. You will click on McFarland Clinic and Mary Greeley Medical Center as your health care provider. It's that easy. To use the app, you must have an existing MyChart Online username and password. A notification will pop up on your phone if you need to update your Apple Operating System.

Is the mobile app secure?

Yes. To protect your personal information, the app uses the same type of security measures as mobile banking apps.

  • No sensitive data is stored on the iPhone's memory.
  • To access your medical record, you must log-in each time with your unique user ID and password – just as you would from a computer to verify authorization.
  • To further enhance security, you may enable a passcode for your Apple device that will prompt you each time you turn on or wake up the device that offers protection if you become separated from your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
  • You should always log-out at the end of your session to further protect your personal health information.

Are all the MyChart features available through this mobile app?

Many of the same trusted services you access by computer are available through the app. This first version of this app allows you to:

  • Send a secure message to your doctor about non-urgent health questions
  • Check most lab test results
  • View appointments
  • Access your health summary, including medications, immunizations and allergies
  • Receive health reminders
